The steps
Footage and a clear brief come in
A short call or a written brief: what the video has to do, who watches it, where it runs, the length, and the date it is due. Camera originals come over from the shoot, not exports.
Originals are protected first
- Two copies on two separate drives, each verified with a checksum, before anything else happens.
- Light editing copies (1080p proxies) made on ingest, so heavy 6K footage cuts smoothly on any machine.
- The project is organized from the start: timelines, multicam clips and source video in their own bins, named after the piece.

Hook first, payoff at the end
I watch everything and pull the best takes. The opening has to earn attention and name the problem in the first seconds. The payoff lands at the end, not in the first ten seconds, so people keep watching.
Clean cuts, with angles used on purpose
- No ums, stutters, false starts or dead air, checked on every line, not just at the joins.
- With two cameras or two sizes, I build a multicam clip first, so cutting between angles is a click, and so you can switch one yourself later.
- Where the take jumps, the angle changes. No visible jump cuts if another angle covers it.
- Pacing is not uniform: good shots hold, quick cuts only where they earn it.
The team reviews on one link with timestamped notes
No hunting through email threads. Every note is tied to a moment in the video, and each one gets an answer.

- 0:12Tighten the pause before the product shot
- 0:41Swap the on-screen name to the new spelling
- 1:48Lift the music under the last line
Color, audio, captions, graphics and music
- Color: each camera graded to match, then one look for the whole timeline. Exposure is judged on the rendered picture, not on numbers alone.
- Audio: dialogue cleaned and leveled, music sitting well under speech, and the final mix set to -14 LUFS for YouTube.
- Captions: short single lines that never straddle a cut, with brand names and product spellings checked.
- Graphics: on screen from the first seconds, in the brand, never covering a face. Lower thirds sit on the side of the person they name.
- Music: under the open and the close, with a short lift at section changes.

Notes in, new version out
Your notes come back as a new version with a change list, so you can see what moved and the earlier version stays intact. Two rounds are included on each video, and most finish in the first.
Every size, organized
Final files in each size you run, short cutdowns for ads and Shorts, captions as a separate file, and picks for the best Shorts moments. Versions with and without burned-in captions.
